Where to travel in 2021

We would like to inspire you, and give you some journey ideas for 2021 :)

We are sure you are in need of holidays and travel, now more than ever!

1.) Preseason sailing trip in Croatia with your best friends

Admit to yourself - all of us at least once a year need holidays without kids and family! Especially in 2021. We need a year opening sailing trip with our mates, and some moments reserved only for ourselves. Why in preseason? Preseason (and postseason) are the best periods for sailing trip with friends. There is no rush, no quees, no heat, and wind is just good enough for sailing (or race with friends in case you have crew for 2 yachts). Ok, sometimes there can be more wind than expected or wanted, but to have a good crew while kids are safe at home is an advantage in this case. Restaurants are not crowded, and best part of the day is lunch or dinner with friends in a local restaurant eating “peka” (meat or fish baked under metal lid), fish or lamb. There are many things to do on islands such as hiking, cycling, renting convertible car and discovering hidden parts of the island, vine tasting or just relaxing with beer or coffee on the waterfront near to your boat.

HINT: look for sailing boats or catamarans with webasto heating- for cold nights @ sea!

2.) Main season sailing trip in Croatia with your family and friends

Main sailing season in Croatia is from June to September while main tourist season is July and August. Why is the summer season a perfect period for sailing Croatian sea with family and friends? Because weather is stable (most stable from second part of June to mid September when sea temperature is minimum 21C - optimal for swimming and other activities for yourself as well as your kids, if they are a part of your crew. Kids will enjoy swimming and snorkelling activities which are a great idea, just like renting a SUP (stand up paddle board) or kayak. Adults will enjoy local food, hidden bays and coves, nightlife @ cafes on the waterfront and diving in crystal clear Croatian sea. Usual length of sailing holidays is from one week to three weeks. In one week you can see central Dalmatian islands, in two weeks you can combine central Dalmatian islands and Kornati islands, while in 3 weeks you can cruise from Split to Dubrovnik visiting central and south Dalmatian islands, and reaching Kornati as well.

HINT: if sailing in July and August, look for sailing yachts or catamarans with air-conditioner!

3.) Short 3 or 4 days trip with colleagues from work - team building in October

Although October is sometimes considered offseason, depending on weather occasions, it is one of the best sailing months in Croatia. It is still sunny, there is nice wind for sailing but not too strong (like in April), and sea temperature is more or less good for swimming if you are a bit braver :) There is no heat or crowds. Because of all of this, October is great month for team building with your colleagues from work or business associates. There are plenty of things to do on islands (renting quads, cars, scooters), most of the restaurants are open, and you and your colleagues will enjoy sailing and visiting Croatian islands in this beautiful part of the year.

HINT: look for yachts with same number of heads/showers as cabins, so you will not need to share bathroom with your colleagues

4.) Regatta sailing with your friends or colleagues

Regatta sailing is one of the best experiences for all sailing lovers. There are many open class regattas you can participate in - all you need to do is to apply (in some applications it will be necessary to enter your sailing club membership information). Team building during regatta is also an interesting idea because all participants need to take a role on the yacht and help/work together in order to achieve results. Of course, to participate in a regatta, previous sailing knowledge (at least 80% of the crew) is essential. We recommend open regattas (without ORC certificate) if you are not racing on monthly basis. If you are not into racing, but still love watching regattas, it is possible to hire a sailing yacht for regatta period without official participation. Still you can be present and enjoy regatta start live from the first row.

HINT: look for yachts with full batten main sail, classic genoa and opt. gennaker!

5.) Couple’s sailing trip in Croatia

There is no better way to reconnect with your loved one than spending some time together on a sailing yacht. We all know how important it is to spend some days alone with your partner, without friends, kids, family or work and to have some time alone and in full privacy. Sailing trip for couples is always a great idea. Is there anything better than sun lounging topless on a yacht, far away from familiar faces, in a hidden cove or bay with most beautiful turquoise sea? Or having dinner for 2 with a million dollar view? Or reading books in the afternoon with summer breeze in your hair? Sailing holiday is the most romantic and reconnecting holiday for couples.

HINT: look for a yacht which is easy to handle - with a bow thruster, and large owner’s cabin
